Action Packed!

Good times were had this weekend - Saturday night was spent with my super-fun work crew. We all indulged in some rock and roll Thai food at Toi on Sunset and then headed out to the El Capitan to see The Nightmare Before Christmas in 3D!

Toi was delish. They aren't kidding when they say it's rockin' - there were rock posters all over the walls, and we got to get the Led out all during the meal with a ton of Zepplin tracks. I am also proud to report that even though not a single asian could be found working in the establishment, it was genuine and bonafide kick-ass Thai food. We will be back. Of course, poor Ed had to endure lots of staring throughout the meal and several people were caught stalking him out of the corners of their eyes wondering (yet again) if he was "the guy from Heroes". He's gotta start working that angle one day...


Then we arrived at the main event - The El Capitan. I'd only seen The Nightmare Before Christmas once before, but it wasn't in 3D. they also had sets there from the movie and different objects. We dug it. It's pretty cool to have such an amazing evening with th people you work with, and it's even better when they let you take pictures of them in their 3D glasses!

After the movie was over, we tried to hit up an ice cream place called Mashti Malone's that has random flavors like Orange Blossom with Pistachios, Pomegranate Sorbet, Rose Water Ice and others! However, we were sad to see them pulling the iron gate across the doorway and turning the "closed"sign toward the window as we pulled into the parking lot. But once you put ice cream in my head, there's no getting it out, so Ed & I made a late-night stop at House of Pies in Los Feliz. We didn't opt for the pie, but the sundaes were GIANT!



Sunday turned out to be another L.A. Day as Ed & I went to Little Tokyo to check out the Murakami exhibit at MOCA and the Giant Robot exhibit at the Japanese American National Museum. SO AWESOME! Murakami is amazing, and ya'll better catch it before it's gone! I posted a big long entry here (thosecoolkims) with tons of pics and wackiness. Here are a few of my faves from the day:
